Any mission trips to japan?

Okay, so I’ve loved Japan and Japanese culture all my life and I’m a very strong christian. I would LOVE to go to Japan on a mission trip. So, does anyone know a mission trip to Japan that a 13-year-old girl could be apart of?

You might be better asking about this through your church.

That said, I think it would also be a good idea for you to grow up a bit before you go off on missions trips anywhere, and to gain a bit more respect for other peoples’ beliefs rather than trying to convert them to yours. How would you feel if I tried to convert you to my religion? My guess is you wouldn’t like it.

I’m looking for adventist Summer 09 Mission trips, i’m college age. What sites can i look at?

Adventist Mission Trips

Wonderful. I was a Student Missionary years ago. I served in Indonesia as an English and Bible Teacher. Japan and Korea are also great places to go. Korea has a very good salary package for teachers. The need is great. Check with the NAD or General Conference web-sites. They should have a link to the missions site.

You can also check with NAPS through Oakwood University. They go to several places annually. Great group of young people dedicated to foreign mission service.

Take care, and made God guide you in his service.

What is a good Christian song for background music for a video of pastor interacting with youth?

For Pastor Appreciation service this Sunday, the youth are making a video with photos of their mission trips from this past year, and also of Vacation Bible School. I know very few contemporary Christian songs and could use some advice on something upbeat, and suitable for the accompanying pictures and message of doing God’s work, or being a servant/having a servant’s heart. Thanks.
And could you include the name of the artist, please. There are so many artists who do renditions of songs; they range from lovely to downright scary! Thanks!

Hi BB,
An overdue greeting from Germany to you and the family. ;-)
You know me and that Christian is not my personal calling but there is a classic that may be appropriate for you that is extremely powerful.

He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother

This could be either by ‘The Hollies’

or by ‘Neil Diamond’

depending on the tempo and mood you want to set with the rate at which you want to change slides. You can see by the first video the power it would lend even though you would use the photos for a different emotional response of support but still get the subliminal bonding undertones. Have your husband and family review it and see if it has an effect on them, that could give you a clue how it may affect others.

Bright Blessings
Tom

soooo….if you had the chance would you???

to go on a year long mission trip that is

This is how it works…starting in September you go to a country for 3 months to do mission work you come home for Thanksgiving break, then you head out again to a different country until you come home for Christmas break. After Christmas you head out again to another country and come home for spring break then go out once again to yet another country until summer break…..

The trip is for people between the ages of 18 and 28, would you go?

I would for sure. If there is nothing holding you back, why are you even wondering?????? Just go. In a couple of years you wont be able to do it and you will be kicking yourself. GO GO!!!

Easiest way to go on a mission trip?

I really really want to go on a Christian mission trip.
It can be any kind; international or here in america, evangelism & discipleship or relief & community development.
I just want to do more to serve God’s children.

But I can’t find any organizations that take single teenagers. They’re all for group missions. I would love to go with my youth group, but most of the students in my youth group don’t have time for fundraising. They’re not bad people at all, they’re just involved in a lot of other things.
But I know that I could raise the money for myself to go on a trip, I just can’t find a way to go on one.

So if you know of any organizations that let single students come together and serve, i would appreciate it sooo much :)
Also, if you can just think of any examples of little ways to serve other people (like collecting blankets for the homeless) I always love new ideas of things I can do.

And I know that every good thing done in my life is not me, but my amazing God working through me :)
and it’s such an honor.

I hope you all have a blessed day!
Thank you!
If it helps any, I’m a high school student, not college.
:)

Go by a cheap backpack. Fill it full of useful items and take it downtown and give it to a homeless person. Keep doing it. Go volunteer at a civic center, homeless shelter or other place. If you live close to Oklahoma shoot me an email and I might know one you could go on during the Christmas break.

If your Church supports missionaries in the field you might see how much it would cost you to fly over and help out in the summer with a VBS program or whatever they need you to do.

Last thing. Remember that no matter what you do you will really be serving yourself. Do not take this the wrong way. I have been on several trips and I was a part of many wonderful things. But, I grew leaps and bounds and realized that as much as I gave God gave me more and humbled me in ways I cannot express in mere type. So go but realize that you are both the instrument and the target.

How do you get sponsors for mission trips?

Normally you (& your family) would go to different churches in your denomination & present yourselves as missionaries, basically asking for their support. It would be your responsibility to keep the churches who take you on informed as to what you are doing & send letters, etc.
My church happens to be of Southern Baptist denomination, so you would check out sbc.net or ask your pastor for more information. Good luck & God bless, for whatever the Lord calls you to do!

Mission trip…?

Last year, I went on a mission trip to Mexico with my church youth group. We got to build houses for poor families, and we really got to know the people there. It was truly an amazing experience. Well, after the mission trip, I moved. My new church, and all the other churches in the area don’t have mission trips for youth. I really, really want to go back to Mexico again, and the only way possible would be to go with my old youth group. I asked some friends in my old youth group, and they said that if I asked the leaders, they would probably let me go to Mexico with them, even though I moved away. Well, I asked my parents, and they said it would be inconvenient to drive 4 hours away (that’s how far my old church is), and that they would be worried about my safety. But I can’t lose hope! How can I convince my parents to let me go? Also, how can I convince my old church to let me go with them? Help!!!!!

My kids go on a mission trip every year with our church. How can driving 4 hours to your old church be worrisome for your parents, when they let you go to Mexico last year? That was a lot farther than a 4 hour drive. You don’t need to convince your old church to let you go, you are already welcome, Call your old youth leader and see if he/she will talk to your parents. Do you live close to Indiana, you can go to New Orleans with us next year in July!!

Does anyone have any fundraiser ideas?

Ok, my youth group and I are going to New York City to help with the homeless ministry for our annual Spring Break Trip. I love mission trips with a passion and this is a lifetime experience. But, the problem is is that I have no clue how to raise $642 by March. I need ANY fundraiser ideas please!
My church has already paid off more than $300 off of each of the 30 participants that are going. And we already had our 2 fundraisers to help toward the trip. So, the remaining money is left up to us.

Send out support letters. I’ve been going on mission trips since I was 6 years old, and I too have this crazy passion for serving. I had to raise 3,000 dollars for my trip to Africa last June, and trust me, If i can do that, you can do this. when i got back, I also hada make $500 for a trip to Youth with a mission in the tender loin district in frisco.
Basicly, you need to send out letters to EVERYONE you know. why youre going, what your doing, and ask them for their prayers and support.. (even like your doctor, dentist, local shops,)
If you hook up with a few other members from your team, you can do a car wash and split the money (or you say we need ____ in total for all ‘three’ of us to go, so we are guna make it a group effort to pay for everybody. which helps sometimes too, cuz like u may have someone that is way over their 642, and you may have people that really need some help. Just a thought)

I wish you the BESSSTTTTTTT of luck :) I love what you are doing an will be prayin for ya!

Christians going on mission trips to "save" the people?

I just dont get this, and Im not trying to be negative here, but I really don’t understand why some (not all) christians feel the extreme need to go into other countries and convert the people there, and at the same time say they’re doing them a favor. It reminds me a lot of when america was first getting started and they regarded all the native americans as savages who needed to be converted and "civilized" – and look what happened to them.

Especially the people in 3rd world countries who have their OWN religion already. What’s so wrong about just going to a country to help the people get running water, food and medicine, get the kids educated, without a religious twist on it? Let them keep their own religion!

Why arent these people putting in all that energy to help change their systems of control that are preventing them from getting the help they need in the first place.
I’ve been around those people who go on the mission trips, and they present their argument, and argue until you either walk away, or give in to what they’re saying.

Its manipulation, they’re bringing them things they desperately need – and putting their beliefs on them at the same time. Why mention religion at all, just offer the help!

People in 3rd world countries arent just waiting for handouts – they need our help, and come from a level of poverty most people cant comprehend in the US – to the person who said "well they arent pushing it away either"

People too arrogantly believe that "well of course I’m right," and think others need to believe what they do. And if they can’t help fellow humans without inserting religion…then they clearly don’t actually care that much about people, they care more about religion and spreading theirs. They just use desperately needy people as easy targets. And if some can’t see that that happens, then those particular people are truly brainwashed.
