I am going to gulf coast Mississippi, to help with the rebuilding of homes damaged by Katrina. I am leaing over spring break and it cost 600 dollars. Please dont tell me that if I have to ask for money I shouldnt go, becasue God doesnt just drop 600$ at your feet. And also please dont respond with, well non christians dont want to be asked, because its false, I went on one 2 years ago and most of the money was from non believers in my family.
talk to local businesses for a charity donation, make sure to mention it’s for charity.

My daughter went on a mission trip to the UK this past summer. She used three approaches to raising the money:
1) Personal letters to friends and family
2) She approached several local churches and Sunday School classes and asked for their support
3) She sold snack food between classes at school
I disagree with your assertion that God doesn’t just drop money at your feet. As the deadline for having the funds approached, money came from the most unexpected places!

The best way to raise money for your trip is send out letters to your family and friends telling them where you are going, what you are going to do there, and how important it is to you to be able to go.
Tell you need to raise money to go on the trip and you would appreciate it if they would think of you the next time they need some thing done around their house or yard.
Some may call you and many will just send you a check to help you.Knowing that you are willing to work for the money shows that its important to you.
Have fun!!

So why aren’t you asking Christians? I mean, aren’t they all supposed to be about helping the poor?
"Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these My brethren, ye have done it unto Me."
Didn’t Jesus supposedly say that? That’s what I don’t understand about Republicans. They CLAIM to be Christian oriented, and yet they’re stingy and greedy and always want to screw the poor. How do they reconcile those two things?
Go to your local church and ask for handouts. Point out that they’re hypocrites for not helping you more. Prey on their guilt like the ministers and priests of Christian religions do – like Oral Roberts did when he claimed that God would kill him if he didn’t raise a million dollars.
