I know it sounds bad but I do not go to church very often and am not particularly affiliated to one. I went on a medical mission trip to honduras with my grandmothers church and loved it, but would like to try and find something new. My boyfriend would like to go on one with me, he is catholic i am christian… what do i go through. We mostly just want to help people out.

My parents are extreme christians and i’m agnostic. i want more than anything to go to different countries and see the world, but my parents are also freakishly over-protective and won’t let me go anywhere unless it’s a mission trip… so as you can see, this poses a serious problem. My church is going to Nicaragua this summer to help build things and minister to little children. I’m so willing to help build and all that if i can go, and i can speak spanish so i’d be able to help a lot… i just wouldn’t be able to minister to little children. I’ve thought about faking being a christian, but there’s no way i could do that. Do you think they’d let me go to help translate and build even though i wouldn’t minister?
btw, my parents know i’m not a christian
and trust me, just because they haven’t convinced me to be a christian doesn’t mean they’re not "strong" christians. They pray about five times a day, drag me to church two times a week, read the bible like every day (and usually try to get me to)… just so you know…

I am a college Junior, and I am thinking of going on a Mission trip during the 2-3 week no class period between spring/summer classes. I was really surprised at the fact, that the missions i found required payments of 1500 to 4000 dollars for a one week trip. Is that common? Also, i am not the kind of guy who attends church regularly, although i am Christian, i want to do it for experience (because i want to be a doctor). Is that a problem?

Where should i go to find places to do the mission? I want to do it in Africa or maybe a Asian country.

Any information, preferably personal experience would be greatly appreciated

Go to your local Baptist Church, where a lot of students go and talk to the church secretary. They usually do mission trips and can tell you about possibilities.

So im a Christian. And im going to be praying about this but i had an argument with my sister about if i should go to 2 missions. Ones in new mexico and another in mexico. She said that you should put your heart on one mission trip and focus on that one because you wont be fully committed if you go to both? In my opinion i think that you can be committed fully to both and she said taht you might be thinking about the other msision trip while your doing the one your doing now. Same to that, our church also has commitee groups like a praise team, body worship, hospitality, and they wont let you allow to do 2. Because they want you to be commited to only one. What if you want to praise and be in a hospitality group and you can do both fully committed? so yea..i need some opinions!

Here’s an opinion. Don’t push your religion on those who have to bow to their need, and are susceptible to your coercion.

If you legitimately want to help the less fortunate, join the Peace Corpse or Habitat for Humanity, or something like that.

I need a song 4-6 minutes in length, a good one to put to a photo sideshow. The photos are from a mission trip from Haiti. We’re showing it in school, so the song can’t be a "Christian song", but as long as it isn’t extremely religious, I think it will be fine.
