I have to write a paper on why I want to go on my youth group mission trip,
I am really bad at writing papers!
What should I write?

Stay home and get a girlfriend instead. You’ll be happier, and so will the people the mission trip will be terrorizing.

So my youth pastor just talked to me about going on a missions trip somewhere out of the country, preferably the Dominican Repubilc, and he said if we plan it, we can go, and of course if it’s cheap enough. Now where are good & cheap places to go on a missions trip? We will get a good amount of translators from our church, spanish translators, so yeah any ideas for fundraising also, anything help would be WONDERFUL.

I’m so proud of your decision to serve a mission for your church. I know God will be with you and he is who you should pray and ask where he wants you to serve, not us. This is your journey, not ours.
But to add to your thoughts of what you need for the mission, check on line with several countries websites and then they have drop down lists of what your looking for. If you can find a website where you can find people who have lived in various places, they may help you by sending emails on the economy of that country, what their needs are, ETC.
For fund raisers there are a lot of options. Have the young men offer to do yard work for older people and quote it for doing the whole job, not by the hour. Some homes need to be painted on the outside and if you go to Home Depot or Lowes and go to their paint department, often times they have rejects… meaning after the color was mixed the client didn’t like it and so it gets reduced way down so it will sell and use that for the inside and the outside. If you live in an area where there are a good number of outside pets, put out a flier that you are going to sponsor a "pet wash" for $5 per pet.
One last thought, it will sound a little off the wall but none the less I want you to do it. Check around and find out families in your area that are Mormon to help you with the service projects to raise money. They always have great ideas and will not expect any monetary compensation. Remember Matt 25:40? (paraphrasing) In as much as ye have done this unto the least of my brethren, you have done it unto me. More people that help you will be more blessings given by our Eternal Father in heaven.

I am in a church youth group and we are going on a mission trip to cedar rapids Iowa this summer, we are designing t shirts and need to think of a short and catchy slogan as well as a design for the t-shirts…

My girlfriend and I, 20 and 21 years old, will be leading worship in New Orleans on a mission trip with the youth group from our church. Though we are not in youth anymore, the youth pastor asked us to come along to lead worship, something we both are really looking forward to. We leave in about a month. I am just looking for some suggestions of good songs to play. I play guitar and sing and she sings extremely well. Thanks for all your help!

Hi, I’m 17, I want to be religious, but I just can’t really feel god all the time… anyways, last year I went with my youth group on a YouthWork’s mission trip, which was really great and some of the activities were very spiritual and impacting, and the work we did was a little rewarding… but i don’t really feel it today.

Anyways, my youthgroup at my Methodist church doesn’t have a real leader, but I think the parents would organize a mission trip if we got it started for them.
i’ve been doing a ton of google searches but would like to ask some real people.

if you know of any organizations or missions around the Pacific Northwest that are fun, rewarding, and spiritually rejuvenating, please let me know!!!!!

Jennifer’s correct in that mission trips can be a "mountain top" experience. I went on my first missions trip when I was a freshman in high school and immediately I was hooked. I found myself out there in situations where the gospel of Christ became real to me. I was no longer just studying Him in a sunday school class. I was active and the cool thing was God was actively using myself and my team mates as we shared the gospel with people we normally would have never seen before. And we saw God move as He brought people to Himself through us. Lives were changed, including ours! It was wonderful! Hard, but life changing! I knew then that this was what I wanted to do with my life.

I later attended Youth With A Mission after high school and it was one of the highlights of my life. I’d highly recommend checking them out. There are bases all over the U.S. and world. Even one in Idaho and Canada. Each has it’s own focus but there is training offered in each that helps people grow closer to God and also get grounded in the Bible. But then take that experience with God and learning from the Bible out into the world both locally and internationally. And on my trips we saw God move as He brought people to Himself through us. Lives were changed, including ours! It was wonderful! Hard, but life changing! It’s great for all ages and all denominations!

Every summer my youth group goes on a mission trip. Each year we come up with a creative theme for the trip and for our t-shirts. Please help me come up with some great (appropriate) ideas!

We are going up to Ohio for a week. We will be helping people around the local community we are staying in. Normally we do stuff to repair their houses or whatever they might need done.

My youth group just returned from a short term mission trip and I have been elected to make a slide show accompanied with music for a program at my church. I would like a song by a Christian artist that has lyrics to go with the occasion. Two years ago after our last mission trip, the song Fall in Line by Seven Places was used. I would appreciate any and all suggestions?

I am going on a mission trip with my youth group to build a house in Mexico. I have SO much to pay for already, and getting a passport is just another expense. Where is the cheapest place that you know to get a passport? And can you give me the link?

There is only one place you can get a passport…thru the U.S. passport service. The price is the same for everyone over 16. If you’re under 16, it is a little cheaper. See site below for all application info and to print out the forms. Then you must turn your application in to the nearest post office with a passport office in it. It is currently taking 4 to 6 weeks to get a passport and you should plan on the 6 weeks…so you need to apply soon as possible.

next week i’ll be going on a mission trip with my youth group.
each night we have a devotional, and one of them i will be leading.

i just don’t know what i should talk about.
i was kind of hoping for some sort of "inspirational" story that i could tell, and then talk about it in conjunction with the bible.

any ideas would be welcomed!

Talk about the many ways your religion indoctrinates you into believing in mythical gods. Examine each of your religion’s arguments for its belief in a god, then look at how much emotional manipulation plays a part, especially those that take advantage of human insecurities.

That should make for some good discussion.
