The week in Belize was amazing! Seeing the people and the conditions in which they live and work reminds me of how fortunate I am. I had the opportunity to work with the local people on painting the inside of a church. The next day we went to an orphanage. While there we did sports evangelism and put together a program for the kids. This orphanage was not like our orphanages. Some of the kids have been living there for over 15 years. Our goal was just to show God’s love. I spent time with Adam. I’m not sure how we got together. On Friday we had a block party and invited the entire neighborhood to see the church that had been freshly painted. It was a huge success. We did face painting, fed poor children and made crafts. Events like this don’t happen often for these young people. Here in the United States, we tend to take so much for granted. We have so much. This missions trip reminded me to be grateful for all that I have–which is a lot! -Jon Borgstat age 15
