I am 13(turning 14 this sunday) and I want to actually help countries in need, not just donate some money. The issue is, is that I don’t believe in god so is there an alternative program, club, or something, or would they allow an atheist? Also I am looking to go on holidays, spring break and winter break.

You will have to pay for everything anyways, so go alone and get into an organization, like peace corps. etc, etc.

I am also an atheist, and when I was younger I used to go on mission trips with my Presbyterian friend’s youth group. They did not require that I was of the same religion. But if you are looking for something with no religious affiliation whatsoever, I would try Habitat for Humanity or similar non-profit groups.

yep there are organizations, but you still have to pay flight and housing, food, etc. Peace Corps is the only free one, but I think you have to be 18.

There are many organizations out there that are not ministry based. This is a great idea and I commend on having a great care and heart for other people. Do you have an idea what country that you want to go to.
I will forward you some asap

when devoting time to any charity you may want to start small and local, before deciding to go to another country. there’s a lot involved when doing overseas charitable work, and pretty much all organizations only send volunteers who have been with them for years and/or have certain skills pertaining to the area in which they are sent. (I.E. speaking the local language, some medical expertise, etc.) its very expensive to send someone overseas, so organizations are very careful who they send. if you want to make it overseas with any organization you have to put in a lot of volunteer hours with different charities. start small with local groups like the SPCA or nursing homes. there are a ton of charity groups locally that need volunteers badly. you may even want to check your school, they may be able to put you in contact with different groups.
